Abraham Bernard est un médecin russe né en 1762. Formé à Londres en 1789, il exerce à Hasenpoth, en Courlande, devient médecin de district à Chavli, dans le gouvernement de Wilna, puis inspecteur d'hôpitaux militaires en Lituanie, et est nommé en 1809 chirurgien en chef de l'hôpital de Slonim; conseiller de cour, il pratique à Mitau en 1810-11 avant de s'établir à Moscou. Il publie notamment, en 1799, des observations sur l'enterrement prématuré des Juifs, à Mitau.
