David b. (Judah) Loeb Berlin est le rabbin des trois congrégations unies d'Altona, Hambourg et Wandsbeck, né probablement à Eisenstadt, en Hongrie, dans la seconde moitié du dix-septième siècle, et mort à Altona le 5 mars 1771. On sait peu de sa vie, mais son frère Isaïe Berlin et son beau-frère Joseph b. Menahem Steinhart louent sa grande érudition talmudique et sa piété, également mentionnées sur son épitaphe; d'abord rabbin à Dessau, il dirigea les trois congrégations à partir de 1768 et jusqu'à sa mort.
