Bernhard Berenson is an art critic and historian born in Vilna, Russia, on June 26, 1865. Critique d'art et historien ; né à Wilna, Russie, le 26 juin 1865. Il a reçu son éducation en Amérique et a été gradué à Harvard en 1887. Depuis quelque temps, Berenson séjourne en Italie pour étudier l'art italien, et il est considéré comme l'une des autorités principales en matière de technique, suivant les méthodes de Morelli pour examiner l'authenticité alléguée des peintures anciennes. Bernhard Berenson collabore au « Nation » de New York et à diverses revues françaises et allemandes d'art et d'archéologie.
