Benedix Benzion est un médecin russe converti au christianisme et missionnaire auprès des Juifs, né en 1839 dans le gouvernement de Kiev. Baptisé à Berlin en 1863 après plusieurs années en Roumanie, diplômé de médecine à Wurtzbourg en 1867, il devient missionnaire médical pour la British Society for the Conversion of the Jews, envoyé en Roumanie en 1874 puis à Odessa en 1876, où il exerce dix ans avant de gagner Constantinople en 1886. Il est l'auteur, entre autres, d'« Oraḥ Ẓedaḳah » (Odessa, 1876) et d'une traduction judéo-allemande parue sous le titre « Tiferet Yisra'el » (Odessa, 1883-86).
