Rabbin allemand et savant bibliciste ; né à Breslau le 8 septembre 1862 ; éducation au gymnase, à l'université et au séminaire théologique de sa ville natale (doctorat en 1889). Depuis 1891, Jacob est rabbin à Göttingen.

Parmi ses écrits, il faut signaler spécialement : « Das Buch Esther bei den LXX. » Giessen, 1890 ; « Unsere Bibel in Wissenschaft und Unterricht », Berlin, 1898. Il a également édité « Predigten, Betrachtungen und Gebete von Dr. Benjamin Rippner », _ib._ 1901 ; et a contribué abondamment à la « Zeitschrift » de Stade.
