Moïse Benedict est un banquier et artiste allemand né en 1772 à Stuttgart et mort dans la même ville le 8 juillet 1852. Destiné à la sculpture, il est envoyé en 1785 avec son frère Seligmann Löb au Karlsschule de Stuttgart, avant que les deux frères ne dirigent ensemble la banque Benedict Brothers; doué pour la peinture de miniatures, il fut l'ami intime du peintre Christian Gottlieb Schick, avec qui il correspondit pendant des années.
