Poète et traducteur, huitième enfant de Jacob Belmonte, né en 1619, mort à Amsterdam le 29 mai 1647. Élève de Saül Morteira, dont il édita les sermons, « Gib'at Sha'ul » (1645), avec Benjamin Diaz, il traduisit le Cantique des Cantiques en espagnol, publié à Amsterdam en 1644 sous le titre « Paraphrasis Caldaica en los Cantares de Selomo », ainsi que les Pirqé Abot, sous le titre « Perakym » (Amsterdam, 1644). Il fonda en 1639 la société de bienfaisance Guemilout Hassadim.
