Femme d'un grand savoir talmudique, née à Lemberg vers le milieu du XVIe siècle, morte à un âge très avancé à Jérusalem. Fille du philanthrope et chef de la communauté de Lemberg, Israël Edels, elle épousa le célèbre talmudiste Josué Falk ha-Cohen, auteur du « Sefer Me'irat 'Enayim » ; à la mort de son mari, en 1614, elle se retira à Jérusalem. Portée vers l'étude talmudique, elle rendit elle-même certaines décisions sur des questions halakhiques difficiles, notamment que la bénédiction des lumières de fête doit être dite avant, et non après, leur allumage.
