L'un des principaux Juifs de Cranganore, à seize milles au nord de Cochin, dans le sud de l'Inde, au milieu du XVIe siècle. Avec Samuel Castiel, Éphraïm Salah et Joseph Lévi, il fait édifier une synagogue à Cranganore en 1568. Selon une chronique hébraïque anonyme conservée à l'université de Cambridge, son grand-père serait venu de Jérusalem — la même source mentionne aussi un certain Hayyim Belilla, hazan venu de Safed.
