Agent financier des ducs et princes de Hanovre, né vers 1630, mort à Hanovre le 1er janvier 1714, dont la position honorable est louée par Manassé ben Israël dans son « Espoir d'Israël ». Il mit constamment son influence au service de ses coreligionnaires, obtint en 1683 la charge de surintendant des blanchisseries ducales, assista des érudits talmudiques et établit un beth ha-midrash dans sa propre maison. En 1703, avec son fils Naphtali Hirz, il fit édifier une nouvelle synagogue sur le site de l'ancienne, construite par le duc de Hanovre en 1609. La bibliothèque de son gendre, le grand rabbin de Prague David Oppenheimer, transita également par ses soins vers Hanovre.
