Compositeur hongrois né à Budapest le 23 février 1860. Formé au Conservatoire national et à l'Académie de musique de sa ville natale, il eut pour maître de composition Robert Volkmann, qui encouragea son talent. Il composa de nombreuses opérettes jouées avec succès au Volkstheater de Budapest, ainsi que des chansons et des pièces instrumentales ; son trio pour harpe, violon et violoncelle établit sa renommée en Allemagne, et il fit jouer une ouverture au concert philharmonique de Budapest en 1901.
