Imprimeur chrétien de livres hébraïques et orientaliste, né à Hanau, en Prusse, le 26 octobre 1679, mort vers 1750. Il fonde entre 1709 et 1712 un atelier d'impression dans sa ville natale, d'où sortiront plus de cent publications, et traduit notamment des extraits des commentaires rabbiniques sur les Psaumes (Hanau, 1712) ainsi qu'une partie du « Mishné Torah » de Maïmonide. Nommé professeur de langues orientales à Hanau en 1701, puis de théologie en 1703, il devient en 1716 recteur du gymnase de Zerbst.
