Cabaliste actif à Naples dans la première moitié du XVIe siècle, il enseigne le Zohar et d'autres textes cabalistiques au cardinal Ægidius de Viterbe et à Johann Albrecht Widmanstadt, donnant ses leçons dans la maison de Samuel Abravanel. Selon le témoignage de Widmanstadt, c'est par l'intermédiaire du cardinal de Viterbe que la connaissance du Zohar se répand alors parmi les savants chrétiens.
