Rabbin et talmudiste né en Lituanie vers 1775 et mort à Seiny, dans le gouvernement de Suwałki, le 25 avril 1846, il descendait à la septième génération de Tobie Bachrach, décapité avec Israël ben Shalom sous une accusation de meurtre rituel à Rushony le 19 septembre 1659. Modèle de piété, il distribuait aux pauvres tous les revenus de sa charge de rabbin de Seiny et vivait des intérêts d'un fonds que ses amis avaient placé pour lui ; ses annotations talmudiques, « Nimmuḳe Hagrib », figurent dans l'édition du Talmud publiée par Rom à Wilna.
