Auteur et traducteur né à Fürth, en Allemagne, il édita, avec son propre commentaire sur les treize règles herméneutiques, un extrait du « Shulḥan 'Aruk » de son beau-père Eliezer ha-Ḳaṭan, paru à Fürth en 1696-97. Installé ensuite à Amsterdam, il y publia en 1727 le « Meẓiat 'Azariah », une traduction en judéo-allemand du « Sam Ḥayyim » de Moïse Sulzbach, rééditée à Zolkiew en 1795.
