Avraham Haïm Zagdoun
Create the Great Book with our AIRegion: Tunis (naissance), France, puis Jérusalem
History register · custodian, not owner
Born in Tunis, he emigrated young to France with other Tunisian Jews, married there, became attached to the Hasidic teaching of Breslev (encounter with Rabbi Israël Odesser), made aliyah and lived in Jerusalem where he founded his own community. Presented as drawing from direct inspiration rather than scholarly study; he developed the notion of « Atsmo » (the divine essence in all beings) and distinguished himself from Kabbalah in favor of a « simple » service of God. His teachings are disseminated by the Torat Avraham Haïm association.
