Né à Tunis, il émigre jeune en France avec d'autres Juifs tunisiens, s'y marie, se rattache à l'enseignement hassidique de Breslev (rencontre de Rabbi Israël Odesser), fait son alya et vit à Jérusalem où il a fondé sa propre communauté. Présenté comme puisant à une inspiration directe plutôt qu'à l'étude érudite ; il développe la notion d'« Atsmo » (l'essence divine en tout être) et se distingue de la Kabbale au profit d'un service de Dieu « simple ». Ses enseignements sont diffusés par l'association Torat Avraham Haïm.
