Botaniste, né à Odessa le 5 mai 1845, mort le 24 juillet 1903. Professeur honoraire de botanique à l'université de Heidelberg, il écrit en 1871 les « Beiträge zur Kritik der Darwinischen Theorie » et publie de nombreux articles dans la « Botanische Zeitung » et le « Botanischer Jahresbericht ».
