Rabbin et auteur allemand, né à Posen, rabbin de Zell vers la fin du XVIIIe siècle, issu d'une famille savante remontant à Meïr de Lublin ; son père Joseph était rabbin de Dessau, et un de ses proches, le savant Isaïe Berlin. Il écrit le « Maré Ech » (L'Apparition du feu), publié après sa mort par son fils Moïse Jacob en 1803, recueil de notes critiques sur divers traités talmudiques. Il ne se confond probablement pas avec l'autre Abraham Asch, auteur du « Torah Koulah » (Berlin, 1796), qui militait contre l'usage des enterrements précipités.
