Philosophe et commentateur biblique, né à Saragosse à la fin du XVe siècle, mort vers 1556 à Salonique. Son père est exilé d'Espagne en 1492 et meurt à Naples ; Méir, qui l'y avait accompagné, y reste jusqu'à l'invasion française de 1495, puis s'établit à Salonique. Il est l'auteur de l'« Ourim we-Toumim », commentaire d'Isaïe et de Jérémie (Venise, 1603), du « Me'ir Iyov », commentaire de Job rédigé en 1506 et publié à Salonique en 1517, du « Meïr Tehilot », commentaire des Psaumes rédigé en 1512 et publié à Venise en 1590, et d'un commentaire sur le Cantique des cantiques publié dans la Bible d'Amsterdam (1724-27).
