אמנון נצר

Born "Naser (Nāṣer) Soluki" in Rasht, emigrated to Israel in 1950; doctorate in Iranian studies at Columbia University (1969). Co-founder of the Department of Iranian Studies at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem (1970), he was the leading authority on the history of the Jews of Iran and Judeo-Persian literature. He also founded the Persian service of the Voice of Israel (1958). He edited and compiled over two hundred articles, books and monographs.
