Younger son of chemist Ludwig Mond. Liberal Member of Parliament from 1906, minister (Public Works then Health) under Lloyd George. In 1926 he orchestrated the merger of four enterprises to create Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), whose first president he became. Active Zionist, president of the British Zionist Foundation, he founded the city of Tel Mond in Palestine and financially supported Weizmann and Jabotinsky.
