Alfasi, Isaac ben Reuben

Sometimes presented as grandson of Isaac Alfasi, he is commonly cited as the author of the « Sha'are Shebu'ot », a treatise in twenty chapters on oaths, usually printed with the « Halakot » of Alfasi. It is however probable that the real author is another Isaac ben Reuben, of Barcelona or otherwise unknown, especially as he cites the Rif without claiming a family connection.

Parfois dit être un petit-fils d'Isaac Alfasi. Il est fréquemment cité comme l'auteur de la "Sha'are Shebu'ot," un ouvrage en vingt chapitres sur les serments, ordinairement imprimé avec la "Halakot" d'Alfasi (Fürst, "Bibl. Jud." i. 36; Benjacob, "Oẓar ha-Sefarim," p. 605). Il est probable, cependant, que l'auteur réel était Isaac ben Reuben de Barcelone ou un Isaac ben Reuben par ailleurs inconnu, d'autant plus qu'il cite le Rif sans revendiquer de lien de parenté.
