Facteur d'orgues et inventeur français, né à Paris le 4 décembre 1824, mort en 1888. Formé dans la manufacture fondée par son père, Jacob Alexandre, à Ivry, près de Paris, il reçoit en 1844 un intéressement dans l'entreprise. Avec son père, il est à l'origine du piano-orgue, du piano-Liszt et de l'orgue-mélodium, dit « orgue Alexandre ». La maison Alexandre reçoit en 1856 la médaille d'honneur de l'Exposition de Paris pour ses instruments, très populaires ; Édouard est fait chevalier de la Légion d'honneur en 1860.
