Traducteur et auteur actif dans la première moitié du XVIIIe siècle, il se rendit de Tafilalet, au Maroc, à Amsterdam afin de réunir les fonds nécessaires au rachat de sa famille et de sa synagogue, retenues par les Maures. Il y publia en 1727 une traduction du « Zékher Rav » de Salomon Sasportas sous le titre « Memoria de los 613 Preceptos », ainsi que « Bi-Neot Deshe », recueil d'exhortations rituelles et éthiques et de légendes de Moïse et Aaron, en 1735 (deuxième édition en Russie, 1809).
