Talmudiste et auteur actif à Tunis vers le milieu du XVIIIe siècle, il fut l'élève d'Isaac Lombroso et d'Abraham Ḥayat. Ses novellae et recueils sur plusieurs traités du Talmud de Babylone et sur le « Yad ha-Ḥazaqah » de Maïmonide furent publiés à Livourne en 1759, aux frais des fils de Samuel Nataf, sous le titre « Bené Shemouel » — le premier ouvrage publié par un Juif tunisien.
