Journaliste né à Prague en 1850 et mort à Vöslau, près de Vienne, en juillet 1893, il fit ses études au lycée Bonaparte de Paris avant de se consacrer au journalisme, collaborant notamment au « Petit Journal », à « La Vérité », au « Rappel », au « Siècle » et à « L'Indépendance Belge », puis devenant correspondant du « Temps » à Vienne. Il représenta le « Siècle » pendant la guerre russo-turque, fut envoyé en Bosnie par le gouvernement français pour en étudier la situation économique, et publia notamment « Vienne sous François-Joseph » ainsi qu'une vie du général Hoche.
