Médecin et traducteur italien du début du seizième siècle, né à Lecce, dans l'ancien royaume de Naples, et mort à Venise en 1523, peu après être devenu médecin ordinaire du cardinal Dominico Grimani à Padoue. Ses traductions latines d'ouvrages hébreux de philosophie et d'astronomie lui valurent une grande réputation dans le monde chrétien, notamment celle d'un traité astronomique d'Ibn al-Haytham (mort en 1038), déjà traduit en hébreu par Jacob ben Makhir en 1372. Il compila aussi une grammaire hébraïque, publiée sous le titre « Mikné Abram ».
