Astronome et rabbin de Constantinople né vers 1480, il fut l'élève d'Elijah Mizraḥi et une autorité citée par Joseph Caro. En 1556, à l'instigation de Joseph Nasi, il se joignit aux rabbins de Constantinople qui tentèrent d'interdire le commerce avec Ancône en raison des persécutions subies par les marranes de ce port sous la juridiction des papes. Il édita un calendrier pour les années juive, chrétienne et musulmane, imprimé dans le Mahzor grec de 1526, en suivant le système d'Ulugh Beg.
