Auteur allemand né à Glogau au deuxième quart du dix-huitième siècle. Après avoir été précepteur à Berlin, il s'installa à Prague en 1768 ; arrêté sur une fausse accusation en 1773, il fut emprisonné dix mois à Pirna, où il poursuivit ses études bibliques et talmudiques, avant d'être libéré grâce à l'intervention de Moses Mendelssohn, qui lui répondit le 13 janvier 1774. Il publia ensuite une grammaire hébraïque en 1783, deux séries de lettres de Mendelssohn en 1792 et 1797, une édition du Pentateuque avec le commentaire de Mendelssohn en 1802, puis un dernier poème en 1810.
