Nom donné à Azariah, l'un des trois compagnons de Daniel à la cour de Nebucadnetsar. Il s'agit d'une déformation de « Abed Nebo », c'est-à-dire « serviteur du dieu babylonien Nebo », attestée notamment dans une inscription du septième siècle avant l'ère commune. La substitution de Nego à Nebo visait probablement à effacer le nom de la divinité païenne.
