Rabbin à Amsterdam dans la seconde moitié du XVIIe siècle, où il mourut vers 1693. Il traduisit en portugais, d'après la version hébraïque d'Ibn Tibbon, les « Ḥobot ha-Lebabot » de Baḥya (Amsterdam, 1670), ce qui contribua à la popularité de cet ouvrage dans les communautés séfarades d'Europe occidentale ; il possédait une riche collection de livres en hébreu, espagnol, portugais et latin, dont un catalogue parut l'année de sa mort.
