Talmudiste, philosophe, physicien et astronome actif au XIVe siècle à Salonique, déjà très âgé en 1335. Auteur, selon son contemporain Isaac de Lattes, de commentaires sur le Pentateuque, Job, des parties du Talmud et les Pirḳe de-Rabbi Eliezer, ainsi que d'ouvrages de physique, de logique et de métaphysique, dont ne subsistent que des fragments manuscrits ; son commentaire sur Job, nourri de discussions philosophiques sur la théodicée biblique, le montre disciple fidèle de Maïmonide.
