Amora du troisième siècle, originaire de Babylonie et élève de Rab, émigré en Palestine où il devint connu par ses nombreuses sentences haggadiques. On lui attribue notamment la composition d'une confession pour le jour des Expiations, conservée dans le Talmud de Jérusalem.
