Rabbin galicien né vers le début du XVIIIe siècle et mort à Lemberg vers 1769, issu d'une famille en vue de rabbins, il officia pour les communautés de Javorov et de Rzeszow. Il s'opposa vigoureusement au hassidisme naissant en Galicie et attaqua en particulier Elimelech de Lezaysk, auteur du « No'am Elimelech ».
