Neveu de Siméon de Coucy-le-Château et de Jacob de Corbeil, il vivait vers 1200 et était surnommé « le Saint ». En 1227, après avoir collationné tous les exemplaires du Maḥzor français qu'il avait pu réunir, il en établit une version accompagnée d'un commentaire fait surtout de compilations d'explications écrites et traditionnelles reçues de son oncle Ephraïm ben Menahem, de Shemaiah bar Isaac, de Moïse ben Kalonymus ha-Zaḳen et de Meshullam bar Simson.
