Théologien karaïte né au Caire vers 1300, mort à Constantinople en 1369, longtemps établi à Nicomédie en Asie Mineure, d'où son surnom ; appelé Aaron le Jeune pour le distinguer d'Aaron ben Joseph. Il acheva en 1346 son ouvrage philosophique « 'Eẓ ha-Ḥayyim », modelé sur le « Moreh Nebukim » de Maïmonide qu'il combat par ailleurs, puis « Gan Eden » sur les commandements bibliques (1354) et « Keter Torah », commentaire du Pentateuque (1362) ; compilateur et éclectique, il adhérait au système des Motazilites plutôt qu'à l'aristotélisme.
