Salomon Ibn Gabirol (vers 1021-1058), poète et philosophe de Malaga, élabora dans la Fons Vitae (Mekor Hayyim) une métaphysique néoplatonicienne fondée sur la matière et la forme universelles. Connu des scolastiques latins sous le nom d'Avicebron, on ignora longtemps son identité juive. Sa poésie sacrée, dont Keter Malkhout, demeure centrale dans la liturgie séfarade.
