Berdychiv (Berdichev), ville d'Ukraine centrale, fut l'un des centres les plus importants du judaïsme ukrainien. Liée au Rabbi Levi Yitzhak de Berdichev, figure aimée du hassidisme, la ville était au XIXe siècle à majorité juive. Elle abritait une intense vie commerciale, littéraire et culturelle. La communauté fut en grande partie massacrée en 1941.
