Rattaché à l'université de Southampton, le Parkes Institute est constitué en institut en octobre 2000 autour de la bibliothèque léguée par le révérend James Parkes (donnée en 1964). Il est le plus ancien et le plus vaste centre mondial dédié à l'étude des relations entre Juifs et non-Juifs, de l'Antiquité à nos jours.
