Ville de Macédoine occidentale grecque sur le lac Kastoria, Kastoria abritait une communauté juive roméote (Romaniotes) d'ancienne implantation, rejointe par des Séfarades après 1492. Ses habitants étaient renommés pour le travail des fourrures, activité qu'ils diffusèrent jusqu'aux États-Unis ; la communauté fut déportée et exterminée en 1943.
