The Radak (David Kimhi) and Hebrew Philology

Rabbi David Kimhi (c. 1160–1235), called the Radak, was a grammarian and exegete active in Narbonne. His grammar handbook and dictionary, the Mikhlol and the Sefer haShorashim, were authoritative for centuries. His biblical commentaries, clear and methodical, combine grammar, literal sense, and anti-Christian polemic, and influenced Hebrew-reading humanists of the Renaissance.
