Daf Yomi ("page of the day") is a worldwide study program consisting of reading one double page of the Babylonian Talmud each day, completing the entire work in approximately seven and a half years. Launched in 1923 by Rabbi Meir Shapiro at the Agoudath Israël conference, it synchronizes the study of hundreds of thousands of practitioners. The completion of a cycle is celebrated by the ceremony of Siyum HaShas.
