Large engraved brass hand meant to be hung on the wall of the house or above the threshold. The chiseled decoration mixes stars, rosettes and sometimes a protective inscription; some bear a suspension ring. Common to Jewish and Muslim families of the Maghreb, it warded off the evil eye from the home.
