Marriage contract of the Jews of Bukhara, decorated in the style of Central Asian arts: round arches, stylized flowers and warm colors evoking ikat silks. The central Hebrew-Aramaic text is set within an architectural frame enhanced with gold. These ketubim testify to a long-isolated community, conservative in its ancient formulas.
