Circular matza cover of silk or satin, embroidered with gold thread depicting floral motifs, a star, or a hamsa at the center. Created by Judeo-Maghrebi embroiderers from Algeria and Morocco, it covers the pile of matzot on the Seder plate. The decoration draws from the vocabulary of North African festive embroidery.
