Wissembourg

Wissembourg, a border city of Bas-Rhin, welcomed a notable Jewish community in the modern period, with a synagogue and cemetery documented. The city, on the Alsatian transit axis, saw Jewish families settle there from the seventeenth century onward, benefiting from letters of protection granted in the region.
