Mountain city in Iraqi Kurdistan, Rawanduz housed a small Jewish community attested in the late Ottoman period, speaking Neo-Eastern Aramaic (NENA). Like most Jews of Kurdistan, they emigrated to Israel during Operation Ezekiel and Ezra (1950–1951).
