Description of Firkovits' travels in the Crimea and Caucasus, particularly in the years 5599-5619, during which he collected ancient books and manuscripts from genizahs and Jewish communities. Includes numerous lists of epitaph texts as well as 15 folded picture plates at the end (not found in all copies). Firkovits (1787-1874), religious scholar of the Karaite sect and collector of manuscripts and ancient books.
