A long and interesting letter in the handwriting and signed by the Gaon Rabbi Hayyim Ozer Grodzensky. Vilna, the intermediate days of Passover 1903. The letter was sent to "the elder of the Holy Land" the Gaon Rabbi Samuel Salant, Chief Rabbi of Jerusalem, and concerns matters of funds for the "kollels" in Jerusalem. In the letter he writes forcefully against those sending money in a manner intended to pass directly through a specific official, and he writes: "Regarding the money sent from our kollel locations in the name of our honored Rabbi or in the name of the officials, may they live, we beseech them please to return them, for what has been done cannot be undone this time, but henceforth we shall not accept them in any manner or way whatsoever, for thereby the standing will be weakened over time and the money will be as funds with no claimants". He warns against the rumors spread by other circles against the collection institutions of the Halukka funds, which causes the ruin of the collection agencies: "And this stumbling block comes from those seeking pretexts, and who in their hearts desire to divert the Halukka fund to other matters, or from the new ones dreaming while awake and striving against the Halukka, and therefore they devise in their hearts lies against the senders, and say that they should send directly...". 2 pages, 20.5 cm. More than 25 lines in his handwriting and signature. Fair condition, burn marks on the margins of the paper, without damage to the text.
