Tefillin are two black leather boxes containing Torah passages handwritten on parchment, worn on the arm and head during weekday morning prayer. This mitzvah, derived from verses in Deuteronomy, expresses the binding of thought and action to God. Their making and ritual fitness follow precise scribal rules inherited from tradition.
This Great Book does not yet have published chapters. The chapters — each bearing its register, its epistemic status and its sources — will be added as editorial enrichment and assisted generation progress.
